About Me

I have always had a love of music. Especially singing. I studied voice at VCU. I was a soloist at St. James Episcopal Church in Richmond. I also sang with many local area bands, singing popular music of the times.

I moved to New York City in 1976 where I continued to sing popular music as well as opera. I sang at the American Festival Cafe at Rockefeller Center, as well as many other clubs. It was in New York that I learned to tune pianos. I also had a store in Manhattan where I reconditioned and sold used pianos. With the help of John Ford, I manufactured Ford Tuning Hammers which I sold throughout the United States.

Rewarding Piano Care

When you take care of your piano, your piano will take care of you. A well-tuned and maintained piano is an investment in the progress of students and career pianists alike, as well as in the life of the piano.

Client-Focused Service
While in New York City I tuned for Lincoln Center, particularly The New York State Theater. I also tuned for the Russian Tea Room, Tavern on the Green, The Waldorf Astoria, Joseph Papps Public Theater, and all of La Mamma's Theaters. I tuned for many conductors, voice teachers and dance studios.

Some of my favorite customers were families with children whom I have watched progress over the years. Some have become accomplished musicians.

My Personal Instrument

All pianos have stories to tell. My Weaver Grand sat in an apartment overlooking the George Washington Bridge during the World War II blackouts, and is a family treasure spanning more than two generations. In 2003, I rebuilt it and brought it back to my home here in Virginia. Many beautiful instruments like this were built right here in the USA.
