I have always had a love of music. Especially singing. I studied voice at VCU. I was a soloist at St. James Episcopal Church in Richmond. I also sang with many local area bands, singing popular music of the times.
I moved to New York City in 1976 where I continued to sing popular music as well as opera. I sang at the American Festival Cafe at Rockefeller Center, as well as many other clubs. It was in New York that I learned to tune pianos. I also had a store in Manhattan where I reconditioned and sold used pianos. With the help of John Ford, I manufactured Ford Tuning Hammers which I sold throughout the United States.
